Vicious Cycle

image

Unseen memories.
Thoughts of yesterday,
Circle an empty room.
They don’t make a sound.
Scars commiserate with
what was in a silent benediction.
Nothing stirs, except my soul.
The past is everywhere.
The past is nowhere.
Years have gone by, and
still I can’t stop collecting
dust of spent regrets.
The particles a reflection
of what is left of the light.

Lemme just say I was seduced by the image of the clockwork moon being serenaded by a wolf. I would use that image for a different poem if you allow me. Maybe, I will tie it in with yours =)

I would have never thought regret, could make such a beautiful story. β™‘
It’s sad when loneliness only numbs, what time can’t heal.
    George Jones;
    He stopped loving her today.
I loved the song too. Picking on the strings.
    George would be proud. πŸ˜‰

  3. Hello neighbor, since β€œscars commiserate” welcome to Foreverville, it’s a place where nothing ever changes and dust protects everything! You’ll love it here! Cocktail hour starts at 11:00 am and there’s never a last call. πŸ˜‰ In all seriousness this is an excellent write, totally able to connect with every word! I hope you’re having a wonderful day, may it be filled with creativity, inspiration and laughter. ~ Mia πŸ™‚

  4. I understand this “vicious cycle” all too well, but never so eloquently as you have stated it here. Beautiful poem & vocals, Tosha (as always). Happy Easter to you and yours! πŸ™‚

  5. Hi, There were some beautiful phrases in the poem, well crafted. The song was lovely, which reminded me of a time I had when I’d re write lyrics to key songs, this or Billy Joel or use a melody as a spring board for writing. You have a sweet voice and excellent guitar sounds – and a lovely blog.
