A few of my favorite quotes from the Netflix series “After Life” The plot revolves around Tony, played brilliantly by Ricky Gervais who loses his wife to cancer. Tony decides to ditch his nice guy demeanor and take his grief out on the world. Ashley Jensen and Penelope Wilton stars as well. They are phenomenal. It really is quite something. The show takes a poignant and brutally honest look at loss. Don’t worry though, there’s enough humor to soften the blows.
“One day you’ll eat your last meal, smell your last flower, hug your friend for the very last time. You might not know it’s the last time,so that’s why you should do everything you love with passion, you know? Treasure the few years you’ve got causr that’s all there is”
“We’re not just here for us, we’re here for others. All we’ve got is each other. We’ve got to help each other struggle through until we die and then we’re done”
“I would rather live and miss him, than be dead and have him miss me. That how much I loved him.“
Anf my favorite song from the series. “Among The Living” The soundtrack is exceptional and features artists like James Taylor, Lou Reed, Nick Drake, Elton John, and Hammock.
That first quote should be everyone’s philosophy abut life. Only then, can one truly treasure every moment. xo

It’s always a bit of a tough subject for me. We lost my son’s mom to cancer and my mother too. That’s probably why I haven’t jumped in yet but I’ll let you know what I think.

I understand. I can tell you it really looks at grief in a real but life affirming way.

I have to agree. Edgy but so very human. Few things can have you laughing as you cry at the sadness but he actually pulled it off.

He plays the “likeable guy who’s being a bit of a prick right now” character to a Tee.

Great series. I like how the character’s emotions progressively shine through the banter and insults.
