“The only truth is music.”-Jack Kerouac
This post was inspired by a music survey I came across. One of the question, what five songs means the most to you? Honestly, there are so many songs that hold special meaning for me, it’s hard to pick only a few.. However, I will try for the purpose of this blog post. I’d also love to know what songs you hold dear
“Falling Slowly” from Once
Moods that take me and erase me / And I’m painted black / You have suffered enough /And warred with yourself / It’s time that you won
Somewhere Only We Know-Keane
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I’m getting old, and I need something to rely on / So tell me when you’re gonna let me / I’m getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin
Leave Out All the Rest-Linkin Park
When my time comes / Forget the wrong that I’ve done / Help me leave behind some reasons to be missed / And don’t resent me
And when you’re feeling empty / Keep me in your memory / Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
In My Life-The Beatles
There are places I’ll remember / All my life, though some have changed / Some forever, not for better / Some have gone and some remain / All these places have their moments / With lovers and friends I still can recall / Some are dead and some are living / In my life, I’ve loved them all
Reminiscing-Little River Band
Now as the years roll on, each time we hear our favorite song / The memories come along
Older times we’re missing, spending the hours reminiscing
Hurry, don’t be late / I can’t hardly wait
I said to myself when we’re old / We’ll go dancing in the dark, walking through the park / And reminiscing
Bomus Song. I can’t leave this one out
Don’t Look Back In Anger-Oasis
So I’ll start a revolution from my bed / Cause you said the brains I had went to my head / Step outside, summertime’s in bloom / Stand up beside the fireplace / Take that look from off your face / You ain’t ever gonna burn my heart out.
Alas, only five? What a powerful piece, let me ruminate and circle back.

I love the entire soundtrack of Once, as well as most of the Beatles music… But then I’m an old romantic! (My youngest grandson, as a baby, had trouble sleeping…his parents played lullabies for him. I put on the soundtrack of Once, and he “slept like a baby”… ) Just sayin…

I would think a brilliant poet, humanitarian, warm, radiant soul like you would need a lot more than five songs. xoxo

What your favorite song of theirs?

I would have to go with She’s Electric followed closely by Don’t Look Back in Anger.

💕That’s a beautiful insight Tosha, I’m sure that doesn’t scratch the surface. That says alot about ones soul.
Renea & I when to see the Queen movie last night. We liked it. I never been much of a critic. I woke up after 3 or 4 hrs, thinking of it💙. I also wanted to see how you’re doing. I’ve had some issues with my website Lately. 😦
. I could say, today, In no certain order. The Dance – Garth Brooks, The Pretender – Jackson Browne, Paradise & Wasted Time – Eages, Abraham Martin and John – Doin. 💙 Sad I know. Yesterday, Stairway to Heaven, on & no & on. Those songs seem to seek answers, for the internal haunting of a simple soul.
I enjoy upbeat songs as well, to get inspired & motivated at times. I worked alone a lot, so i cranked up the Rock & Roll, & got busy. Thanks for sharing. 💕
Looking forward to reading other reply post.😀

Hey there. What a wonderful selection of songs. The Eagles are one of my favorite bands. “Wasted Time” has always held a lot of meaning for me too. I’ve been wanting to do a cover of it. Maybe I will once time permits. I’m really glad you enjoyed the Queen movie. Been thinking about seeing it here, but wasn’t sure because of the mixed reviews. However, if it has your seal of approval, will definitely see it now. Sorry about the website trouble. I really hope you’re well and happy, out on your bike enjoying the weather. Check out this song if you’re so inclined. It’s my current jam!

Neat you have quite a wide range of music here. Songs that mean a lot to me are ones that identify with what I am experiencing. Such as one of the songs you have posted Tosha by Linkin Park that has this line, “Strong on the outside, not all the way through” Thank you for sharing!
