The Waltz

I read the depth of his character
by the beauty of his eyes.
And liked to believe our affection
could live without the grave.
Happiness resting upon us in that
hour of willful blindness
IWe felt death could never touch us.
Forgetting how temporal
life and affection can be. But there’s
no living without love
And in that moment I lived forever
with him.
