Didn’t we love each other?
Back in the days
when you kissed sunshine
from my mouth.
And we danced from a room
of desire into a room of
commitment and trust.
And weren’t we good
and gentle and inspired?
Wasn’t it holy- the sweetness
we licked from each other’s skin?
And were we not beautiful then,
as beautiful as rain,
as spring, as fire?

Nostalgic poem looking back, asking the questions if life was how you pictured it, or did you picture it wrong? Or does it reflect on the here and now? How presently, things are not good, and in the past they were exceptional. Beautiful as always Tosha.

Rereading your beautiful poem and it’s reminding me of a song called, “Didn’t We?” Wow, come to think of it, it would be a lovely tune for you. I could see you putting so much aching feeling into it. ❤

I’m not familiar with the song. Massey sings it?

It’s an oldie my Dad played on piano and sang. Yours would be good on it, too. Maybe he’s familiar with it? I’ll poke around and post it for you if I wind up finding anything.

Thank you. I’m having a lot of problems with things going to spam recently. I’ve been so incredibly busy this week I haven’t had time to check that folder

No prob. Other link was text format, cuz I wasn’t sure if the straight YouTube link would show up as a video, like it kept doing on my blog, til I figured out how to rewrite it into a text form to make it a “link”. Glad to see the Youtube link worked and hope you like it. (You can throw out the other reply; I think I might’ve mistyped it, anyway!)

Aww, you’re welcome. That’s why it’d be perfect for you, too (gush). Got 2 or 3 backing tracks (links) I picked out, too — if you want ’em. Holler if you do (hee-hee).

I see it as smoky, jazz-bar style; continuous sax runs, steel whisk drum treatment.? 🙂
