When in college I always had people saying I did not have a NY accent. I asked do you mean Brooklyn or mafia accent? No just elongating words. But straight laced people from Houston were always fixing to do something and they would say it is a Southern y’all won’t understand. I did understand. Made it easier to be the white sprinter on the team. I loved being there.

It was a lot of fun. I was always somewhat eclectic but I normally did not drive with a stereo on so I would miss out on the new stuff unless I was working somewhere where the different music and people were around
