Starlight

image

Sleep unraveling from her soul,
she takes his hand.

They walk through a garden
at midnight.

Her bare feet sinking into the
lushness of the grass.

The moon plays hide and seek
between the weeping willows.

In the morning, she won’t remember
her dream, but she will remember
a feeling and the residue of moon dust.

In a poem she’ll reflect on
how the stars drew near to her.

In words, those stars become
her constellations.

They are like a million hearts
yearning…. burning.

Her poem reaching back to
the sky. Beckoning-

  1. Love your words, and this song makes me so happy! Words becoming our constellations…yes. What a comforting thought. ❤

      1. I’m hoping to do some good stuff, at least get into town. Maybe some music. We’ll see. Hanging around the house is my normal Sunday…so I need a change of pace. Have fun !! 🙂

      1. The image combined with the words made me gasp … in my dream, for the first time ever (I think), I actually pulled out my phone to snap pictures, because I so wanted to remember it all.

  3. My favorite poem and lines:

In the morning, she won’t remember
her dream, but she will remember
a feeling and the residue of moon dust.

Surrealistic and the memory of poetry wrapping itself around our bodies and our hearts. Perfect written poem Tosha. I missed you a lot. I’m back. 🙂
