But I Don’t Wanna be Queen.

image

Don’t sit with your legs
crisscrossed.
Sit like a queen

Mind your manners.
Curl your locks.
Priss and preen
Everyone knows the
world loves pretty.

Don’t sit with your
legs crisscrossed
Sit like a queen.

Smile.
Show those gleaming
pearls.
Never be cross or mean.

Don’t grow old,
frail or weak.

Don’t sit with your legs
crisscrossed.
Sit like a queen.

Paint your nails.
Fingers and toes.

Give up food.
Remain a size 2.

Be the princess
married to the king.

Don’t sit with your legs
crisscrossed.
Sit like a queen.

    1. Thanks. I agree there’s so much pressure put on young girls and women to be a certain size and way. The real beauty is in imperfections. My Granny use to say “pretty is as pretty does” She right character is the most important thing.

  1. one of my FB friends the other day wrote a bit about “Mansplaining” and “wombsplaining” being just as valid – she went on about how she sits on public transport “airing her lady garden” ha,ha, it was pretty funny, she’s very cool – an old friend and flat mate (house sharer) used to sit like that, she was cool too! And pretty! 🙂

    1. Amen I’ve always been an outsider and a nerd. I use to want to fit in but now I’m glad I don’t. I have a lot of insecurities and still have times when I don’t feel good enough but I still wouldn’t change who I am. I’m comfortable with me xo

      1. That is refreshing to hear and you, my friend, are perfect, despite any imperfections. We all fall from time to time but it is how we rise that determines our true value. I am happy to hear you are content with who you are, because that is something we should all learn to be. Bravo!! xo
