Unseen memories.
Thoughts of yesterday,
Circle an empty room.
They don’t make a sound.
Scars commiserate with
what was in a silent benediction.
Nothing stirs, except my soul.
The past is everywhere.
The past is nowhere.
Years have gone by, and
still I can’t stop collecting
dust of spent regrets.
The particles a reflection
of what is left of the light.

Lemme just say I was seduced by the image of the clockwork moon being serenaded by a wolf. I would use that image for a different poem if you allow me. Maybe, I will tie it in with yours =)

The past is just a part of who we are in the now. If we were able to completely leave it behind, how would we define the present or move toward the future. Time must have its three parts.

I would have never thought regret, could make such a beautiful story. ♡
It’s sad when loneliness only numbs, what time can’t heal.

He stopped loving her today.
I loved the song too. Picking on the strings.
George would be proud. 😉

Hello neighbor, since “scars commiserate” welcome to Foreverville, it’s a place where nothing ever changes and dust protects everything! You’ll love it here! Cocktail hour starts at 11:00 am and there’s never a last call. 😉 In all seriousness this is an excellent write, totally able to connect with every word! I hope you’re having a wonderful day, may it be filled with creativity, inspiration and laughter. ~ Mia 🙂

Beautiful, not only the poem but your voice, and you do sound kind of Winny Heuston ( I know I spelled that wrong), really nice Tosha

I love this poem. Beautiful, sad, and an all too common part of the human experience. And your song…just remarkable; both your vocals and guitar work.

Hi, There were some beautiful phrases in the poem, well crafted. The song was lovely, which reminded me of a time I had when I’d re write lyrics to key songs, this or Billy Joel or use a melody as a spring board for writing. You have a sweet voice and excellent guitar sounds – and a lovely blog.
