She quietly watches as he
buttons his dress shirt.
Briefly, she catches his eye.
He starts to speak to say, “What?”,
but turns away from her instead.
She feels the doors, the windows,
the ceiling of her heart
glazing over with ice.
Every day now, the hardwoods
pop off the floor, slat by slat.
They could redo the flooring
with carpet, or just move
him or her, out.
She’d claim a tree somewhere,
cradled by branches to hold
her where the echo of love’s
disaster resonates
the heat dissipating,
above the treetop as memories
turn the color of ash.
Her heart knowing
everything changes,
everything ends.
The wind honors the
vanishing.

Descriptions like this “She feels the doors, the windows, the ceiling of her heart, glazing over with ice.” make you a cut above the rest. I would be delighted to retweet your grocery list. Tosha, not long ago I thought about shutting down my blog, missing out on your writing is one of the reasons I didn’t.

A very intense poem, love every line, every line! The emotions that you have captured in the following I find outstanding,
“She feels the doors, the windows,
the ceiling of her heart
glazing over with ice.”
Amazing image, it reminds me of a Maxfield Parrish painting, lovely. Always love to listen to you sing, it feel like your right here! Have a wonderful Saturday. ~ Mia

Having heard your voice on the show a couple of times, I should have known that you could belt out songs that sound better than the artists that made them:)

You’re quite welcome:). I had been looking to add SC to my apps. I know you can obviously record and search for songs but from what it seems you can also get the track without vocals and record into it and save it? I am looking to get it for my computer and I would guess I would need a mic or a webcam to record? Being that I have seen that you used it before today I figure I would ask you.

I use a microphone. Make sure you get one that’s good quality

This picture: WOW!!! I love black and white art, and sepia, too.
Lovely concept of secluding one’s self in nature’s embrace while the heart rages and tries to heal. :))

The end of love is said. As you look to that treetop, recall the cycle of renewal. Spring is coming. Warmth and vibrant hues will soon replace the coldness and ash.

I should probably find someone new to Reblog, but her posts are so amazing! And if you want to hear her beautiful voice, listen to her song below. How many can sing without any instruments & sound amazing?! Not many! But Tosha can! 😉 ❤
